Alexis Zorbas in Elsfleth

Have read the criticisms. Sometimes we complained about something, but you can say it. The owner is very friendly like his staff, regardless of whether I get a free ouzo. We always pick up, and it's just good. I am glad that he is there and will continue to order from him.

One wonders about Elsfleth. There is a REAL Greek host here who serves really good food. The two female waitresses are also very accommodating and genuinely professional. The hygiene rules and behavioral recommendations for protection against infections were explained to us again at the entrance. I think it's very GOOD that everyone is treated so responsibly. We were there for the first time today and I can only really report. The service was very personable and courteous. We were asked in between whether everything was OK. The food is really more than delicious ... therefore cannot understand the negative reviews. The decor is very stylish and cozy. We will definitely come here more often.

We have been to the Zorbas in Elsfleth many times and I have to say that a few years ago the quality of the food could be described as good. Unfortunately, this has continued to decrease. Here is my report from the really last visit there: There were few tables in the middle of the week. The waitress was there quickly and the salad was on the table shortly after ordering. The coleslaw common with Greeks (unfortunately from the bucket) with tomato and cucumber, nice here: The Zaziki is with the salad and quite tasty. But that was the best, I had a typical Greek plate (here Zorbas plate) with gyros, souvlaki and souzuki plus rice (fries cost 80 ct. Extra?). Overall, the Zorbas is unfortunately even more expensive than other Greeks I know. The main course also came about 15 minutes. after order. First I burned my fingers on the skewer (I prefer not to know why it was so hot), then the meat on the skewer was probably of poor quality and completely dry and warmed to death. The gyros swam in water, which was separated from the rice and was partly not through, but also not fresh from the spit. The best for last: While eating the souzuki, I suddenly had something hard stuck between my back teeth. I still hoped for a rosemary needle, but with a little effort I pulled a piece of wire about 2 cm long from my teeth. I was done eating! After pointing out the wire when clearing, the chef (who was also the cook today) came and apologized. The wire would come from cleaning the grate with a wire brush. As a compensation he gave us an ouzo (no kidding!). I hope not to have swallowed more of the pieces of wire because they are razor sharp at the ends.

Holiday lunch, never again, everything from the microwave, only the salad is not. Total bad service it was the boss himself. If he does not feel like he should not open. Conclusion, not better at noon.

Great food, great service. Gyros was fine, the salads were fresh and the desert homemade.

Food is i.O. but the boss treats the guests with a different level. New guests the boss likes, get the "cat table", for popular regulars even tables are carried from inside to outside. We felt second-rate guests but the ladies from the service tore it out again.
